If you want to sell your McLaren, in most cases you don’t have an old car. The current model range began in 2011 with the MP4-12C, and of the 579 McLarens in the FSO’s Swiss vehicle stock (as of the end of September 2025), 481 were not yet ten years old. That’s why the same questions often come up when selling: is the factory warranty still running, has it been extended with an Extended Warranty, and are all services documented?
The name covers very different cars. A 540C or a 570GT is a different case from a 765LT or a limited-edition Senna. The Artura is a plug-in hybrid with a V6, while the other models of recent years have a twin-turbo V8. For the offer, what counts is therefore the exact designation, the factory equipment and everything that has been changed since delivery.
Your request should include the model and first registration from the vehicle registration document, the mileage and the color. Note options such as factory carbon parts, the front axle lift function or equipment from MSO, McLaren’s special division. Take pictures all around the car, of the rims and brakes, the interior and every stone chip. On this basis, we make you a firm offer; it stands as long as your McLaren matches your description at the handover.
Enter your vehicle details now and get an offer right away.

For smaller amounts, for example for export vehicles, we can also pay in cash on request.
Factory warranty. McLaren gives new cars a three-year manufacturer’s warranty, five years for the Artura and four for the W1. At the Artura’s launch in 2021, McLaren also announced a six-year warranty on the hybrid battery, limited to 75’000 kilometers, and ten years against perforation corrosion of the body. Tell us when the car was first delivered; this shows how long the cover still runs.
Extended Warranty. If the factory warranty has expired or is about to expire, the registered keeper can take out a follow-on warranty from McLaren, in steps of 12 or 24 months. This is possible until the car is 15 years old, only below 120’000 kilometers and only after an inspection. Besides the comprehensive cover, there is a powertrain-only variant, which is not offered for the Artura and the Ultimate models. Terms and exclusions differ by model and country.
Certified Pre-Owned. In McLaren’s official pre-owned program, formerly McLaren Qualified, factory-trained technicians examine every car according to a set procedure. This includes a full diagnosis with the McLaren Diagnostic System and a check of the service and maintenance records. Any defects found are fixed with genuine parts. The car then receives a warranty of at least twelve months, which can be extended to 24 months.

According to the FSO, 579 McLarens were registered across the country on the reference date of September 30, 2025. 175 were less than five years old, 306 five to nine years old and 97 ten to 14 years old; a single one was in the 20 to 29 age group. 548 McLarens ran on gasoline and 31 were plug-in hybrids. The most were registered in the canton of Zurich (84), ahead of Vaud (75), Aargau (49), Bern and Zug (40 each) and Schwyz (36).
According to auto-schweiz, 32 new McLarens were put on the road in Switzerland and Liechtenstein in 2025: 18 of the 750S model, eight Arturas, four GTS and two GT. The most new registrations since 2015 came in 2018, namely 100. Added up for the period 2015 to 2025, the 720S was the most common model with 154 cars, ahead of the models of the 570 series, i.e. the 570S and 570GT, with 111, and the 675LT with 57.

For the warranty from the Certified Pre-Owned program, yes: according to McLaren, it passes to the next owner in a private sale. For the Artura, McLaren stated at its launch that the warranty, roadside assistance and service benefits are transferable. For other models and for an Extended Warranty, it’s best to ask your McLaren dealer, who knows your car’s papers. Send us what you receive on this, and state the end date of the warranty.
At the Artura’s launch, McLaren announced a six-year warranty on the hybrid battery, limited to 75’000 kilometers; for the rest of the car, a five-year factory warranty applies today. So in the form, state the date of first delivery and the mileage, say whether the charging cable is included, and take a picture of any hybrid system messages on the display. You’ll find general information on cars with a high-voltage battery under Selling an electric car.
Yes, say so openly in your request: how often, on which tracks and whether brakes, tires or suspension parts were replaced afterward. Invoices for this help. McLaren also makes a precise distinction here: the warranty in the Certified Pre-Owned program covers track driving only outside of competitions, and only if an authorized service center inspected the car before and after. If you have such inspection reports, send them along.
Yes. If a lease or car loan is still outstanding, the sale requires the amount needed to settle the contract. Ask the leasing company or bank for it as of the planned date of sale and enter it in the form, together with the name of the contracting party. The guide Selling a financed car explains how the settlement, purchase price and papers fit together.
Yes, including the limited-edition models that McLaren lists as Ultimate models. With them, every detail counts: state the delivery date, the factory equipment and all work by MSO, and include the invoices. McLaren treats some aspects of these cars separately: the powertrain-only Extended Warranty is not available for Ultimate models, and exceptions apply to them for the warranty in the Certified Pre-Owned program.
Yes. At McLaren, the option of an Extended Warranty ends as soon as the car is 15 years old or has reached 120’000 kilometers; no such limit applies to our purchase. Without a running warranty, the offer relies mainly on records: service invoices, major work on the gearbox or suspension, new tires and brakes. The guide page on high mileage has tips for cars that have covered a lot of kilometers.
