Three questions to clarify before selling your Audi

You want to sell your Audi and know where you stand? For September 30, 2025, the Federal Statistical Office reports 328’502 registered Audis in Switzerland, fourth place behind VW, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. More than half of them, just over 58 percent, are not yet ten years old. Before you fill in the form, three quick checks are worthwhile, because they determine what your offer looks like and how the sale proceeds.

Who owns the car? If there is a running lease, the leasing company is the owner; you can only sell with its consent and against the settlement amount. Did the Audi come to Switzerland via AMAG? Then it comes with the Audi Swiss Service Package+, which covers servicing up to 100’000 kilometers and for a maximum of ten years. What technology is inside? Quattro or front-wheel drive, TFSI, TDI or e-tron, S line or base model: these details belong in the form just as much as the mileage.

Once these points are clear, the rest is done quickly: enter the details, send photos and the vehicle registration document, receive a firm offer. This applies to the A3 Sportback with 40’000 kilometers just as much as to the A6 Avant with 250’000, to cars with an MFK (vehicle inspection) due and to those with damage.

Sell your Audi in four steps

  1. 1

    Request a non-binding offer

Enter your vehicle details in our online form. Your advantage: with just a few details, you get a very accurate initial offer (in practice often accurate to within +/- 1’000 CHF), because we use real market data.

  2. 2

Send photos & vehicle registration document

Send us photos of your car and your vehicle registration document conveniently online. This allows a precise assessment without you losing time on appointments.

  3. 3

    Get a guaranteed offer

Based on your photos, you receive a firm, guaranteed offer – conveniently online, with no on-site viewing appointments. No renegotiation, 100% transparent.

  4. 4

    Vehicle handover & payment

The handover includes the vehicle registration document, every key you have and the service records. We compare the equipment, mileage and condition with your details; if they match, the agreed price stands. Payment is made by instant bank transfer. With a leased Audi, the settlement amount goes to the leasing company and the difference to you. We take care of the deregistration at the road traffic office.

How you get your money

Right at handover, with no waiting.

Instant bank transfer Recommended

We transfer the purchase price during the handover itself. The money is usually in your account within seconds, secure and traceable.

Cash payment

For smaller amounts, for example for export vehicles, we can also pay in cash on request.

What matters when valuing a used Audi

Audi presented the quattro at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1980, and the brand itself writes that Switzerland quickly became a “quattro country”. The drive therefore belongs at the top of your details: does your Audi have quattro or front-wheel drive? Also state the engine and gearbox as they are called in the price list: TFSI for gasoline engines, TDI for diesel, S tronic for the automatic, e-tron for the fully electric models, e-hybrid or TFSI e for the plug-in hybrids.

For the equipment, the S line trim counts, as do extras such as Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, auxiliary heating or a tow hitch. We value S and RS models as variants in their own right.

A special feature of the brand is the Audi Swiss Service Package+. For new cars imported via AMAG, it covers repairs, including wear parts, for three years or 100’000 kilometers and servicing up to 100’000 kilometers, for a maximum of ten years. It is assigned via the vehicle’s AMAG number. The two-year new-car warranty of AUDI AG applies without a mileage limit and, according to the warranty terms, passes with the car to the next registered keeper, as does an extended warranty for the fourth and fifth years. So note when your Audi was first registered, how many kilometers it has and when the last service was.

What to have ready for your Audi

  • Vehicle registration document and all keys
  • Service documents: booklet, invoices or a printout from the Audi partner
  • Origin: imported via AMAG or a direct import
  • Drive and trim: quattro, S line, S or RS model
  • Warranty documents, for example for the Audi Anschlussgarantie (extended warranty) or CarLife
  • With a lease: leasing company, remaining term and settlement amount

Audi in Switzerland: Q3 ahead of A3, one in four new cars electric

For new cars, Audi ranked fifth in 2025 with 17’225 registrations and a 7.4 percent market share (auto-schweiz). The Q3 was registered most often (3’416), followed by the A3 (2’524), Q4 e-tron (1’912), Q5 (1’845) and Q6 e-tron (1’485). The A4, for years one of the brand’s best-selling models, appears in 2025 with only 34 registrations, while the A5 has 1’242.

According to the FSO, one in four new Audis in 2025 was fully electric (4’264 out of 17’125). On the road, the picture is still different: just over half of all Audis run on a pure gasoline engine, 27 percent on a diesel without hybrid technology and only 18’333 vehicles are fully electric. Added up over the years 2015 to 2025, the A3 (around 37’000 new registrations), Q3 (35’000), Q5 (25’000) and A4 (20’000) are in the lead; correspondingly many of them are on the road as used cars. Whether it matters for the timing of the sale when a model like the A4 is hardly registered new anymore is covered in the guide The best time to sell your car.

What determines the value of your car?

The most important factors in a vehicle valuation:

  • Make & model

Premium brands hold their value better

  • Mileage

    The lower, the more valuable

  • Features & engine

High-end features and a powerful engine increase the value

  • Technical condition

Body, engine and transmission are assessed individually

Selling a used Audi: questions and answers

Can I sell my Audi even though the lease is still running?

Yes, but only together with the leasing company, because the car belongs to it. Ask it for the settlement amount for the date you want, and get a firm offer from us. If the offer is above the settlement amount, the latter is paid off and the rest goes to you; if it is below, you would have to pay the difference. Calmly work this out before you decide. The page Sell a leased car shows how the settlement works step by step.

My Audi lease is ending soon. Can I take over the car and sell it?

You have no entitlement to it: the leasing terms of AMAG Leasing state that the lessee has no right to acquire the vehicle. It is possible nonetheless. For this, AMAG Leasing refers you to your sales advisor, from whom you learn the buyout value. Compare this amount with our offer: if the offer is higher, taking over the car and then selling it can pay off; otherwise you are better off returning the Audi. The guide Lease buyout helps you with the calculation.

Does the Audi Swiss Service Package+ stay with the car when I sell it?

Audi describes the package as a benefit for the vehicle: all new Audis imported by AMAG Import AG can benefit, and they are identified by the AMAG number. The free servicing runs up to 100’000 kilometers, for a maximum of ten years, and the cost coverage for repairs three years or 100’000 kilometers; which fluids are excluded depends on the model year. What is still available on your Audi therefore depends on its age and mileage. Tell us both, and if in doubt, ask your Audi partner what is on record for your car.

Does quattro drive give an advantage when selling an Audi?

In any case, it is a detail that belongs in the form. All-wheel drive is widespread in this country: according to the Federal Statistical Office, just under 40 percent of all passenger cars on the road have four driven wheels. We value every Audi as the variant it is – so an A4 Avant quattro not like a front-wheel-drive car. Whether the timing also counts, for example the fall before the first snow, you can read in the guide The season for selling cars.

My Audi A4 or A6 Avant TDI has very high mileage. Is that a problem?

No. According to the FSO, around a third of the Audis on Swiss roads run on diesel, including mild hybrids. High mileage lowers the price but doesn’t rule out a purchase. Enter the reading exactly, photograph the odometer and collect records of services and major repairs, because they show how the car has been looked after. The page Sell a high-mileage car explains how high-mileage cars are valued.

Selling an Audi e-tron or Q4 e-tron: what matters about the battery?

At Audi, there is a separate warranty for the high-voltage battery: eight years or 160’000 kilometers. If the net energy content of an e-tron falls below 70 percent of the value at delivery during this period, the warranty terms consider this an excessive loss. Defects in the cell modules, battery housing, cooling elements and connectors are covered, and like the new-car warranty, this commitment also applies to the next registered keeper. Tell us the exact model, for example Q4 Sportback e-tron or SQ6 e-tron, plus the first registration and mileage. The guide Selling an electric car explains what the battery and charging power mean for the price.
